EMAV’s new Virtual Production studio powered by Alfalite

Portuguese technical production company EMAV, part of the Media Capital Group, has unveiled a new Virtual Production (VP XR) studio featuring LED technology from Alfalite, Europe’s only LED display manufacturer, integrated by Vantec Danmon Group Portugal.

With this facility, EMAV offers filmmakers, producers, and directors of photography a scalable space designed to meet the evolving demands of broadcast and digital storytelling. The facility features a 25 x 5-metre Alfalite Modularpix Pro 1.9 Orim VP XR LED wall and an 8 x 5-metre Modularpix Pro 3.9 HB VP XR LED ceiling, powered by Pixotope’s real-time graphics engine and TrackMen camera tracking systems.

This setup enables the creation of hyper-realistic virtual environments for film, TV series, commercials, music videos, and live events. Jaime Amores, Product Manager at Vantec, highlights “the perfect compatibility of Alfalite’s LED panels with Pixotope’s rendering and tracking infrastructure, ensuring a seamless match between real and virtual elements”.

Luis Garrido, Executive Director of Alfalite, adds: “The project was made possible thanks to our partner in the Portuguese VP XR market, Vantec Danmon Group Portugal, who led a remarkable initiative to advance virtual production in the country, together with our trusted collaborators Pixotope, Tangram Solutions, and Raised by Monsters.”
