Robert Juliat and Madrix announce strategic partnership
Robert Juliat has announced that all its RDM fixtures are Madrix Radar compliant. With the original Madrix software well-established outside the entertainment industry, Madrix Radar was released in 2020 and is specifically tailored and refined for the theatre and architainment markets.
Madrix Radar software is designed for remote management, configuration and monitoring of lighting devices compatible with the RDM (Remote Device Management) protocol. Many DMX lighting fixtures are already equipped with RDM protocol enabling two-way communication, not only sending instructions over networks, but also receiving data back from a device.
Robert Juliat fixtures can be set up, controlled and monitored in full, on all parameters, using the Madrix Radar software running on a single computer. This means that any configuration can be performed from a computer instead of requiring direct access to the devices themselves, in the truss for instance. In addition, every RJ RDM-compliant fixture will act as a dongle to unlock all features and benefits of the Radar system. As such, customers of new RJ RDM fixtures automatically receive those benefits for free.
Whilst other brands of lighting fixtures can also be recognised by Madrix Radar, and some parameters set (e.g. mode and DMX address), the advanced features of monitoring, firmware updates or sending files are not accessible without a licence. Purchasing a licence will unlock Madrix Radar features to any other type of fixture.
Robert Juliat has been appointed as the approved supplier of Madrix Radar licences with immediate effect. Madrix Radar licences to expand a lighting system beyond RJ RDM fixtures can now be obtained directly from Robert Juliat at www.robertjuliat.com and all of their trade dealers.
“RDM has been long established”, says Robert Juliat’s Customer Service Manager, Thierry Dupont. “Madrix Radar takes it to the next level with effortless fixture addressing, fully automatic 24/7 device monitoring during operation, and automatic notifications. New capabilities based on the Firmware Transfer Control (FTC) will allow users to leverage existing standards even more, ensuring smooth workflows and reducing downtime.”
