Tech+ acquires major Martin Audio inventory in Malta
Maltese rental company Tech+, run by Gabriel Mizzi, has acquired a substantial inventory of Martin Audio’s Wavefront Precision line array, along with the Torus and FlexPoint enclosures, in time to service a new techno festival on the island recently. The inventory was provided by Futuretech, Martin Audio’s territorial distributor.
Tech+ fielded hangs of eight WPC on each side of XXL Techno’s beachfront stage at Little Armier Bay. This was one of two principal locations for the event - the other being the National Park in Ta’Qali - while others were dotted around the island.
The WPC was powered by Martin Audio iKon iK42 Dante amplifiers in two-box resolution. Eight SXH218, driven in bridge mode for extra output, created the sub bass rumble. Additional pairs of FlexPoint FP12 provided frontfill and rearfill duties - the latter pointed at the small audience area behind the DJ, “boiler-room” style. Four Torus T1215 stacked in four SX118 subs then took over, providing monitoring on each side of the stage.
The Tech+ team also purchased Martin Audio carts (for all sixteen WPC, four per cart) and flight cases (for the Torus boxes, as well as iK42 racks and other hardware), flying hardware for the WPC, covers for all the subwoofers and all cabling necessary to run the system.
“The Martin Audio system served us well at the XXL beach party, as well as at smaller venues using four or five boxes per side”, says Gabriel Mizzi. “We also deployed it for Triip and Capital Radio Festival at Castello Zammitello and Tortuga beach, respectively.”
