Obsidian releases Onyx 4.32

Obsidian Control Systems introduces Onyx 4.32, the latest iteration of its lighting control software for NX consoles and PC systems. This new version includes a host of improvements - feature enhancements and bug fixes - designed to give lighting programmers more control, speed, and flexibility while opening up new possibilities for creative programming.

Faster cue control, smarter pixel mapping, and timecode support via standard audio input aim to make programming smoother and streamline workflows in theater, broadcast, or live events. Key updates in Onyx 4.32 include:

Cue List Tracking - allowing users to skip over cues while keeping the show running smoothly; suitable for complex theatre programming. Parameters can now also be released in cues within a cue list, allowing greater control when mixing cue lists.

LTC Audio Input Support - LTC timecode can now be received through a standard line-level audio input, eliminating the need for additional hardware; especially beneficial for Onyx PC and NX1 users.

Quick Fade/Delay Modes - a quick double-tap of the respective key sets Onyx into “Fade” or “Delay” mode, useful for applying timings to individual parameters or for recording into cues and presets.

Dylos Upgrades - Onyx’s Dylos pixel composer has been enhanced with new features, including: Control mode selection for Dylos Zones (users can choose between Dylos or standard cue data); “Gobo mapping” support for applying media to individual fixtures, effectively turning each into a mini “screen”; Group Masking to exclude up to two user-defined groups from a Dylos Zone using logic modifiers.

2D Plan Mini Map - The 2D Plan now features a mini-map for easier navigation, allowing users to locate their position, along with enhanced zoom capabilities, quickly.
