Powersoft Duecanali drives cultural connections at Sesc São Paulo
Powersoft’s Duecanali amplifier platform is providing the audio backbone for a wide range of performances and community events across Sesc São Paulo’s network, with more than 100 Duecanali 1604 amplifiers now installed throughout Brazil’s most populous state.
The multi-site programme has been steered by designer and consultant Reinaldo Pargas, whose company, AVM Projetos e Consultoria em Tecnologia, has been working with Sesc since 2003 on projects that balance the organisation’s technical standards with the real-world needs of touring artists and educators.
Established in 1964, Sesc (Serviço Social do Comércio, Social Service of Commerce) is a private organisation funded by São Paulo’s business sector to improve the quality of life of employees and their families. As of 2025, it maintains 43 centres throughout the state offering workers a variety of courses, exhibitions, concerts, dance shows, lectures and other cultural and educational activities on a daily basis. Since Sesc São Paulo began working with AVM, fourteen new Sesc centres have opened their doors.
The 100+ Duecanali amplifiers installed in these centres provide sound with low power consumption and heat dissipation to suit everything from morning children’s workshops to afternoon concerts and evening talks - often within the same venue and even on the same day. The Duecanali 1604 delivers 800 W per channel at four or eight ohms (1,000 W at two ohms) in a compact footprint, or up to 2,000 W per four ohms in bridge mode, giving designers freedom to drive both low-impedance loudspeakers and 70/100 V distributed lines as required by each room.
The DSP+D variant chosen by AVM adds on-board processing and Dante/AES67 audio networking, enabling inputs to be routed directly over IP and tuned in Powersoft’s ArmoníaPlus software without the need for an external DSP. The Duecanali 1604 DSP+D has helped AVM and Sesc deliver consistent sound quality across varied room types, while preserving rack space and keeping heat and energy consumption in check - an important consideration for venues that run full, mixed-use schedules seven days a week, explains Reinaldo Pargas.
“Each Sesc project starts with the same two requirements: we follow Sesc’s technical guidelines to the letter, and we make sure artists have what they need to deliver the best possible experience for the audience”, he says. “Powersoft’s Duecanali 1604 DSP+D amplifier platform has been key to helping us to meet these standards.”
