Netgear Academy expands into industry-wide IP training platform

Netgear is transforming its training platform, Netgear Academy, into the industry’s most comprehensive source for AV-over-IP-based professional education. The 3rd Party Manufacturer Training Program launches with training content from AVB Academy, Crestron, Dante by Audinate, Lightware, Powersoft, Q-Sys, SDVoE Alliance, and Sennheiser, with more to come.

Partners’ content features video demonstrations of solutions and best practices, interactive quizzes for knowledge reinforcement, and detailed PDF materials for technical reference. All training stays free for learners. The expanded Netgear Academy marks a major shift from traditional isolated training methods to a collaborative ecosystem where manufacturers share knowledge to speed up IP adoption across the AV and broadcast industries.

With over 1,000 new professionals joining each month, the platform gives partners unmatched reach while providing learners with centralized access to expert training from multiple industry leaders. “The IP transformation of broadcast and Pro AV calls for a new approach to education”, says Gus Marcondes, Global Training Manager at Netgear Enterprise. “We’re building a platform where shared knowledge boosts everyone’s success. When IT professionals, commercial AV integrators, and broadcast engineers understand how IP infrastructure supports modern AV solutions, the whole industry benefits.”

The program tackles a key industry issue: knowledge fragmentation across various professional fields. While IT teams excel at network architecture, they often lack a deeper understanding of the intricacies of real-time AV protocols. Broadcast professionals are experts in content delivery but may miss infrastructure details. Commercial integrators know deployment, but could improve their knowledge of the entire IP ecosystem.

“This collaborative approach reflects how IP-based AV actually functions”, says Richard Jonker, VP of marketing and business development at Netgear AV. “Success in networked AV environments depends less on proprietary secrets and more on understanding how interconnected systems collaborate. Educated customers become better customers, and shared knowledge leads to stronger solutions.”

Netgear Academy will keep adding partner content and expanding its scope across commercial AV integration, live and broadcast production, and IT professional communities.
