MSolutions releases new secure control device

MSolutions has released the MS-RSE-G secure control device, an ultra-compact (60 x 37 x 23 mm) solution for managing IP and legacy serial devices across enterprise, education and commercial AV environments.

Now shipping, the MS-RSE-G gives installers the freedom to place and conceal devices almost anywhere in a building to monitor and control RS-232-connected equipment, including extenders, motorized shades and other legacy systems. The device also acts as a bridge between IP and UART (RS-232), supporting secure data translation between IP and serial communication protocols.

The MS-RSE-G was originally designed to help enterprises centrally manage meeting room technology distributed across large facilities, bringing legacy serial-controlled devices onto the IP network for enhanced visibility and monitoring. Since its debut earlier this year, integrators have also discovered new applications in commercial and residential shading systems, particularly for widely deployed motorized shade platforms that rely on RS-232 control.

“An installer approached us asking for a solution that could simplify management of motorized shades, which traditionally only support RS-232 serial control”, says Eliran Toren, CEO of MSolutions. “Now integrators can place those systems onto the IP network for centralized management and visibility while maintaining reliable serial control. It opened a completely new market opportunity that we hadn’t originally envisioned.”

The MS-RSE-G connects to any IP network and provides continuous monitoring of connected devices through secure encrypted SSH over IP connections. Its triple-interface support (RS-232, USB-A and IP) offers versatility for mixed AV environments spread across large buildings, campuses and enterprise facilities.

MSolutions also confirmed that a future MS-RSE-G hardware revision scheduled for the second half of 2026 will add PoE (Power over Ethernet) capability, allowing the unit to receive power directly from the network. “That means a single network connection for both communication and power, which makes installation cleaner and more efficient for large-scale deployments”, notes Toren.

In North America, the MS-RSE-G will debut at InfoComm 2026, which takes place June 17-19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. MSolutions will exhibit on the booth of Stirling Communications (C7685), its US distributor for the duration of the show.
