ADJ introduces Entour Pileus hybrid fog and faze machine

ADJ introduces the new Entour Pileus, a professional atmospheric effects generator. Engineered for concerts, festivals, theatrical productions, television studios, and other large-scale entertainment applications, the Entour Pileus combines high-output fog and fine faze capabilities in a road-ready unit.

Using standard water-based fluid, it can generate everything from dense, dramatic plumes of fog to a fine atmospheric mist. This dual-purpose functionality allows the machine to adapt to the changing atmospheric requirements of any production.

At the heart of the Entour Pileus is a 1,500 W heating element capable of producing an output of up to 60,000 cubic feet per minute. Combined with a variable-speed dispersion fan, the machine offers precise control over both atmospheric density and coverage. Fog output and fan speed are independently adjustable from five to 100 percent.

Due to its fast warm-up system, the Entour Pileus is ready to perform in 16.5 minutes. It can generate continuous maximum output for up to 35 seconds, while an intelligent Continuous Mode automatically regulates fluid consumption to maintain a consistent atmospheric effect for extended periods without interruption.

The Entour Pileus features dual 5.6-litre fluid tanks. Operators can fill both tanks and then switch between them mid-show for applications that demand massive output over an extended operating period.

Built for life on the road, the machine is housed within a rugged integrated flight case fitted with locking heavy-duty castors. It also incorporates a self-cleaning system to reduce maintenance requirements, as well as Over Voltage Protection (OVP) to help safeguard reliable operation in demanding professional environments.

The LCD display with a four-button interface provides access to onboard timer and operating functions, while the fixture can also be controlled via an optional wired remote connected through a 4-pin XLR input. For integration into professional lighting systems, the Entour Pileus offers 5-pin DMX input and output with selectable 1-, 2-, and 4-channel operating modes.

Power is supplied to the unit via two independent locking input connectors, one which supplies the heating element and control electronics, and another dedicated to the fan. This allows the unit to be connected to two independent 120 V, 15 A power circuits to supply the unit’s total maximum power draw of 17.9 A in venues where a dedicated 20 A circuit is not available.

The ADJ Entour Pileus is available now through ADJ USA and its network of authorized dealers. The unit is due to begin shipping from ADJ Europe in September 2026.
