Unicol keeps UK’s leading pub retailer and brewer on screen in all weathers

Audio-visual mounting solutions provider Unicol Engineering has supplied its new Outdoor “H” Frame to the UK’s leading pub retailer and brewer, delivered via AV integration specialist Chantry Digital. The freestanding stainless-steel structure was developed to meet a growing demand from the hospitality sector for robust, weatherproof outdoor screen installations, and a successful pilot install of a 98’’ display at one of the operator’s pubs has now paved the way for a UK-wide rollout.

The project has its roots in a post-lockdown shift in how pub companies think about their outdoor spaces. Chantry Digital, which has worked with Unicol across many projects, identified a need for screens of 86’’ and 98’’ that were vandal-proof, IP67-rated, high brightness and anti-glare, that could be permanently installed in beer gardens and outdoor areas, reaching the largest possible audience. Finding the right screen solution began in late summer 2025, and it quickly became clear that the mounting infrastructure would need to match the ambition of the brief.

Unicol’s Outdoor H Frame was designed specifically for this kind of environment, capable of supporting screens ranging from 65’’ to 98’’ in size. Manufactured in stainless steel for long life and corrosion resistance in all weathers, it stands approximately 2.5 metres high for optimal viewing, with legs that can be cut to length to suit specific sites and bolt-down feet providing stability. The frame is also compatible with Unicol’s Outdoor Housing range, as well as being suitable for direct mounting of IP-rated outdoor screens via a dedicated adapter.

In this instance, the outdoor displays are built to IP67 specification for continuous outdoor use, with 3,000 cd/sqm brightness for direct sunlight visibility and an anti-glare display with hard coating (3H). Designed for 24/7 continuous operation, they feature heavy-duty steel construction in AISI 304 (EN 1.4301) and are prepared for mini-PC installation with 230 V power, RJ45, audio out and Vesa 75-200 mounting. Each screen carries an IP67 waterproof rating, with IP65 on the rear outdoor enclosure, along with an IK10 vandal-resistant rating.

“We’ve worked with Unicol on many projects, and they designed the posts, along with specific audio speaker brackets”, says Neil Hawker, Managing Director at Chantry Digital. “We told them what we needed, they sent plans, and we adapted together to reach the final product.” With the initial pilot installation generating strong feedback, the solution is now set to be rolled out across the UK.
