Christie and CES Plus to install latest technology in select Marcus Theatres premium large-format auditoriums
CES Plus and Christie have announced that Christie 4K RGB pure laser projection will be installed in auditoriums across Marcus Theatres, the fourth-largest theatre circuit in the U.S. The technology will enhance twenty UltraScreen and five SuperScreen DLX premium large-format (PLF) auditoriums to combine giant screens with immersive sound and premium amenities.
Under the partnership, CES Plus will serve as the technology partner responsible for project design, equipment procurement, installation, calibration, and ongoing remote service - replacing aging lamp-based projectors with Christie RGB pure laser cinema systems. CES Plus will provide turnkey project management and post-installation support to ensure consistent performance across the Marcus Theatres circuit.
“Marcus Theatres will be the first exhibitor to implement a large-scale rollout of Christie VDR technology in their PLF auditoriums for ultra-high-contrast images, far exceeding industry standards, and including the capability for more than double the typical 3D brightness normally seen in cinemas around the world”, comments Dr. Don Shaw, executive director of Cinema, Christie.
